Packing for New Born - Diaper Bag

I was so confused - was so overwhelmed by what to pack and what not to in the hospital bag for the newborn. I checked online and it further confused me. You know how they say, "too many cooks spoil the broth"? I guess too much information leaves you just as confused as well :p

Here are few things I felt confident about and a newborn might need - and if I do forget something or need something last minute - I guess I should allow myself to make such mistakes and learn from it. After all we learn from mistakes and this is what will become an experience, isn't it?

Well, these are the things I packed in my lovely brand new diaper bag (was dying to use it ;p)
  • Diapers (newborn size - now is the time to use those received from hospital/clinic during our regular visits)
  • Diaper Rash Cream
  • Changing mat
  • Baby Wipes
  • Baby blankets -2
  • Newborn baby clothes - 3 pairs
    • hat, mittens, booties, 2 tops and 2 bottoms (be it long/short sleeves, I guess it doesn't make a difference in Malaysian climate and since baby will be swaddles anyway)

I guess, that's it - and my Baby Bag is ready.

Updates:
  • The hospital provided the NB Diapers, but they do charge for it. So if you already have NB diapers ask the nurse to use those.
  • Get more baby blankets. Two were not enough.
  • I guess if you had a normal delivery 2 pairs of clothing might do. But since I had CS and stayed in hospital for 3 days, baby clothes were not enough.

Brother's Bungalow at Penang Hill

We took some time off from the hustle and bustle of life - and together with some friends we had a retreat at the Brother's Bungalow at Penang Hill. Now while this retreat was being planned I thought to "google" the Brother's Bungalow. I had heard so much about this place and I just wanted to check out this place before we get there. But to my surprise I couldn't find much. So now here are some pictures for you to get a glimpse of how the Brother's Bungalow looks like. I do not have any information on how and who to contact for the reservations but I must say the facilities are wonderful. They have rooms and dormitories. The place is cooling so you don't need an air-conditioner but you do have fans. They have a dining room and the care taker would provide food upon request. This is a very neat and clean place. Airasia - Bukhara Chicken Biryani

My sister tried this when Airasia introduced it few years ago. And she was going all crazy for it. She told my entire family and friends to try Bukhara Chicken Briyani. I have traveled frequently with Airasia but just that time was never right to order a meal, until this CNY when we were flying back to Penang we decided to have in-flight lunch. So DH ordered Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak (our favorite) while I got a chance to order Bukhara Chicken Biryani. It was so delicious and so authentic - I enjoyed each and every grain of that Biryani. If you ever get to try this go for it. You will never regret that. A taste of authentic Indian food (even though it says Bukhara).

Birthday Wishes with Fairy

Here is my second post for today. I am following the sketch challenge from The Craft's Meow May Challenge. Love their sketches (though this is my first ever entry) and this month's challenge is sketched by Nina . Well, my cousin will be celebrating her 12th birthday next month. This sketch inspired me to make her a beautiful birthday card (which I'll have to post soon enough to reach her before her birthday with her gift).  So yeah, thanks to The Craft's Meow for this challenge. And here's my take on the sketch (please excuse my picture taking skills!!). Also, a new friend is giving away a Blog Candy, celebrating her 100 followers on Blogger. So, do check out her page and show some love at A Lil Piece of Heaven
